Potomac Riverside Farm features exceptional facilities to
accommodate your training needs or recreational requirements.

Indoor Arena

One of the largest indoor riding facilities around! This arena is 120 by 200 feet with dressage mirrors, overhead lights, and an aisle for spectators. This arena features excellent, all-year footing consisting of a sand and sand stone mix. Jumps, cavalettis, and poles are kept handy for riders to set up as they wish.

Outdoor Arenas

We have 3 lighted outdoor arenas:

  • The Jumping arena is 150 by 280 feet and features sand and blue stone all-weather footing, jumps, and cavalettis.
  • The Flatwork/Dressage arena is 66 by 200 feet with sand all-weather footing.
  • The Grass arena is a large, 200 by 300 foot arena with a gentle slope - perfect for strength training and a great gallop! Jumps are kept ringside in this area as well.

Round Pen

For lunging and training, we have a 60 by 60 foot round pen with blue stone footing and steel fencing border.

Trails

The trails are absolutely magnificent. The perimeter of the 400-acre farm i8s surrounded by National Park land with numerous trails that take you to the C&O Canal. In addition to being able to ride the C&) Canal, we have our 400 acres for you to explore with a maintained exercise track surrounding the perimeter of the farm. In the spring, we invite a local riding club to join us for our barn spring picnic and trail ride. It is always fun and very sociable.

Club House

For your comfort and sociability, we have a Club House with a decorated lounge, TV, refrigerator, and microwave for your lunch; a shower and dressing room; and, of course, an indoor private bathroom. Outside of the Club House is a court yard for you to relax with your visitors at the picnic tables.

Cross Country Course

Keep a look out! We have plans to build a new cross country course on approximately 70 acres. Keep in touch and we will keep you posted.

Vet Visits

All vets are welcome to Potomac Riverside Farm, and many different vets do visit the farm. You are welcome to use your own personal vet or, for your convenience, we do have a barn vet: Dr. Sarah Link. Under the Barn Health Program, Dr. Sarah Link administers seasonal shots and bimonthly worming on a regularly-scheduled basis to protect your horse's health. Required shots for all horses include Potomac Fever, Influenza, Flu/Rhino virus, EWET, Strangles, West Nile, and Botulism. As Coggins are required for all horses, this is included in the annual Barn Health Program. You will be billed by the vet directly, but all scheduling and record keeping is handled by us.

Farrier Visits

You are welcome to use and select your own farrier. Again, for your convenience, we have a barn farrier. We will keep your horse on a regular schedule and assist you in attending your appointments.
